Brian Kowalski is an actor and producer originally from Belleville, IL. After some success from booking a mattress commercial and starring in “Cronies,” a Spike Lee produced film officially selected to screen at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015, he moved to Chicago to immerse himself in the theatre scene and make his pursuit discovering the craft of acting. Training at Acting Studio Chicago and The Second City led him to performing improv at the renowned comedy house, as well as performing in multiple productions at Happy Medium Theatre Company.
He also began developing his skills behind the camera, starting as a production assistant on Apple TV’s show Shining Girls (2022) and Quester Entertainment’s The Christmas Pitch (2021). He has produced and filmed music videos and also serves as a camera operator for his church’s live-streamed worship services. He owns his own film production company, Better On Paper Productions.
The mission of Better On Paper Productions is to courageously create art that playfully reveals the inherent intricacies fundamental to human connection. We are committed to exploring the curious natures of humor and compassion that we all have for one another.
We seek to operate from a sense of belonging, attempting to make the world feel like less of a lonely place. We will tell the stories of the beautiful individuals who make up communities with bravery and integrity. We transcend being “Better on Paper” because the impossibilities of circumstance are where goodness can be found.
